Chile is ranked the 42nd biggest economy in the world by GDP, according to the World Bank.

It’s ranked 61 by population size with almost 19 million inhabitants as of 2019. Santiago is the country’s capital and largest city.

Chile’s reputation as one of the most liberal economies in the America is reflected by its membership of the OECD (one of only two South American countries) and its ranking of 59 out of 190 by the World Bank’s ease of doing business index.
