Indonesia is the largest economy in south-east Asia and predicted to be one of the top five economies globally by 2050.

Trade relations between the UK and Indonesia are strong, with a UK-Indonesia Joint Trade Review (JTR) concluded in April 2021.

In 2019, Indonesia accounted for 0.47% of the total UK outward FDI stock, and ranked 29th as a destination for UK FDI, and 20th as a destination for UK FDI outside the EU.

Following bilateral discussions, both countries have agreed on a number of priority sectors including legal services being considered under the category of financial and professional services sector.
