How to apply
Our Personal Injury Accreditation is a recognised quality standard for practitioners representing claimants and their dependents in personal injury matters.
To apply for accreditation, you’ll need to:
- meet the eligibility requirements
- submit a detailed application and portfolio
Step 1: Read the guidance
Before you begin your application, read the:
- general scheme application criteria and guidance (PDF 345 KB)
- Personal Injury Accreditation guidance notes (PDF 342 KB)
Step 2: Complete the application forms
Complete the application form (Word 1 MB) and the application portfolio form (Word 1 MB).Step 3: Submit your application
Your completed application is made up of:
- your application form
- your application portfolio form
Do not send files larger than 18 MB. If necessary, send your supporting documents in separate emails.
Submit your application by email
Step 4: Pay the application fee
We’ll send you an invoice when we receive your application.
The initial application fee is £618 (VAT included).

Step 5: Accreditation
Your application will be reviewed by an independent or external assessor from our panel of assessors.
We’ll let you know the outcome of your application once we’ve received your payment.
The accreditation process takes around six to eight weeks. It can take longer if we receive high volumes of applications or if you do not give us all the information we need.
Appeals
If your application is unsuccessful, we’ll refund your membership fee.
You may appeal against our decision.
